About me.

About Lionel Lopez, Jr.

I was raised in Parlier. I shopped at Jepsen's and at Nico's, and I rode my bike over the dirt mounds where PAC Auto stands today. Like a lot of people my age, I left for a while — for school, and then for construction work out of state — and like fewer of them, I came back, because this is where I wanted to raise my family and build my business.

This community has given so much to me, and I am ready to give back.

I did not decide to run for Mayor on a whim. In November of 2025 I stood with a group of organized, respectful neighbors who brought a serious concern to the City Council, and I did not appreciate how we were dismissed. That moment drove me to take action. I have attended every single Council meeting since except two, I have read the agendas and the check registers, and I have gone to the podium on the water bills, on the cost of our pending lawsuits, and on the things residents were told would be handled and were not.

Running a construction business teaches you something that carries straight into City Hall: people can tell the difference between a job done right and a job done fast, and your name is on it either way. It also teaches you that when you make a promise about a timeline or a cost, someone is planning their life around your answer.

I believe leadership is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly, and that a leader has to hold himself accountable to the people who put him there, regardless of the consequences. I believe a city is less likely to be led astray when more people can see first-hand how everything is working. And I believe respect and trust are earned again every year — they last only so long as a leader continues to measure up to the demands of the office.

After much prayer and reflection, and with the unwavering support of my family and friends, I am running for Mayor of the beautiful City of Parlier. Parlier is not a stepping stone to something else. It is my home and it is my priority.

My Story — From Home in Parlier to Montana to N. Dakota to Houston to Home in Parlier

People ask me why I'm running for Mayor. The answer is in these three photos.

The first photo is me on a jobsite up in Montana and North Dakota, where I worked through brutal winters far from home. I've shown up in the coldest, hardest conditions and gotten the job done — and that's the same work ethic I'll bring to City Hall. No shortcuts. No excuses. Just showing up for the people who are counting on me.

The second photo, that's me standing next to the Space Shuttle in Houston where I lived for two years. Standing there, looking at something built by people who dared to dream big, I was reminded of a simple truth: with vision and hard work, there's almost nothing we can't accomplish. That belief never left me — and it's the same belief I have for Parlier. Our best days aren't behind us. They're ahead. But dreams don't build themselves.

And that last photo? That's the reason for all of it — my wife and our baby. Everything I've seen and everywhere I've been led me right back here, to Parlier. This is home. This is where we're raising our family, and this is the community I'm committed to serving.

I've dreamed big in Houston. I've worked hard across this country. Now I'm bringing all of it home — because Parlier deserves a mayor with vision AND the work ethic to make it real.

Let's get to work, Parlier. 🌱
